Lake Effect Diner is a locally loved spot bringing classic American diner food to Buffalo, NY. Known for all-day breakfast and simple, well-made meals, it’s a place people come back to again and again.

We focus on doing the basics well β€” familiar dishes, fresh ingredients, and a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere, with vegan options like our Veggs Benedict and VLT (Vegan BLT) alongside our classic offerings.

This diner is a circa 1952 Mountain View Diner Vin. #446. It was saved from demolition and moved from Wayne, Pennsylvania to Buffalo in 2001. Restored and equipped with a modern state-of-the-art kitchen and knowledgeable and passionate staff, Lake Effect continues to humbly serve wholesome and fresh locally procured ingredients prepared the way they should be…..from scratch! All bread is baked fresh in-house daily and we hand-dip over 20 flavors of milkshakes, done the old-fashioned way.

In 2009 and 2025, Lake Effect Diner was featured on Guy Fieri’s Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives! We put an upscale twist on your favorite diner classics by making much of our products, from meats, breads, to sauces in-house. In addition to making our food with fresh products, we also sell our bagels, bread loaves & rolls, baguettes, granola, fresh-squeezed orange juice, and our custom Blizzard Blend coffee beans.
